St Peter's Kirk, Sandwick, Orkney

This simple lime-washed kirk sits in a rugged and exposed position overlooking the Bay of Skaill on the west coast of mainland Orkney. St Peter’s is a non-CCT church offered by the Historic Churches Scotland. Its calm and restrained interior is dominated by a triple-decker pulpit and two double-height arched windows which flood the kirk with light and makes a perfect spot to enjoy your welcome fresh Orkney milk and shortbread. There are stunning views from the kirk across the bay to the Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site of Skara Brae and Champing™ in St Peter’s will be a uniquely memorable experience. Please note that there is a maximum of a two night stay in this church.
