Introducing our Newest Oxfordshire Champing Church
October 15, 2025

Well, not quite. Sibford Meeting House is just that – a Quaker meeting house – situated at the eastern tip of the Cotswolds. Meetings for worship – Quaker worship services – have taken place here since 1668, when meetings were held in a barn! Don’t worry; the current meeting house, built in 1864, looks quite different. It’s light, spacious, and airy, with extensive grounds and a Children’s Room, full of books and toys for smaller Champers.
The facilities.
Sibford Meeting house has everything you need for a comfortable Champing stay. The building is equipped with a full kitchen, running water, flushing toilets, and even a shower! Central heating means that the site is open for bookings year-round.

The perfect day out.
Sibford Meeting House puts you within arm’s reach of a host of charming day-trip destinations.
In Chipping Norton, you can visit Soho Farmhouse or Diddly Squat Farm. Younger Champers will love Fairytale farm, with its adventure playground and seasonal events.

Explore the historic Cotswold market towns of Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh. Chipping Campden is famous for its bustling high street and historic market hall. At Moreton-in-Marsh, don’t miss the Tuesday market, the largest street market in the Cotswolds, where you can browse hundreds of stalls selling everything from food and drink to clothing, books, and antiques.
A direct bus will take you to Stratford Upon Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. Visit his childhood home, the room where he wrote his first plays, or the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, where you can see his works performed as well as other productions.

Shipston-on-Stour, with its mix of Georgian and timbered houses, makes another beautiful destination. The name comes from the Old English ‘scepwaeisctune,’ or ‘sheep wash town,’ and indeed the village participated heavily in the wool trade. You can even book a balloon ride from Shipston over the northern Cotswold Hills.
Last but not least, don’t forget Banbury, the town mentioned in the famous nursery rhyme:
Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross
To see a fine lady upon a white horse.
Nearby Broughton Castle and the famous Hook Norton Brewery are also must-sees!
