A surprise for kids as we pulled up outside the St Mary at Mountfitchet. Not sure if they actually believed us when we said we were sleeping inside as they didn’t get out of the car straight away. We had been given lots of info from our campbot and inside it was already for us. We just had to walk our dogs and then bring in our sleeping gear. We then went for a walk through the footpath and ended in the town where we found a pub to have a drink in the garden and bought a take-away which we were able to eat on the way back. The children enjoyed a game of scrabble with us in the church and when it was dark hide and seek was their chosen activity. We had a good nights sleep and in the morning we all had a walk around the church reading the inscriptions. We really did have an enjoyable time and would do it again. Thanks to our campbot.
