Needless to say this was a wonderful experience. St Mary’s Church dates back from the 13th century but it is clear people take care of this magnificent
hidden gem on the hill near Edlesborough.

When we opened the doors and saw the place for the first time, it immediately took our breath away. Unique. The colourful church stained glass, the relics, the antique wooden church pews, the altar…one of a kind.

After sundown it all becomes even more magical. When the traffic starts decreasing and Edlesborough falls asleep, we lit the candles, dressed up for the occasion and played the unique pipe organ.

Even though we stayed for one night only, this is definitely one of those nights to remember. And to cherish. Apart from the splendid atmosphere, everything you need is foreseen (coffee, water boiler, sipwell, glasses,….). There’s an outhouse at the north side of the church. Hats off. It was superclean and comfortable.

We’ll be back.
