The Champing Team were amazing, they managed to find us this lovely church after we inadvertently ended up in Norfolk instead of Oxford. St Botolph’s is a beautiful church with a huge, wonderful stained glass window, which myself and my grandson stayed in. It’s in a very remote area surrounded by fields on every side. There is a small play area nearby and a community centre with toilets. Camp beds were provided along with extra blankets. We took our sleeping bags. There was also a small table with comfy chairs, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery and wine opener. Also provided was a kettle, bottles of water, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate and biscuits. We both had such a lovely time, which was only made possible by our wonderful hosts, Tim, his wife Louise and Chris. My grandson, had quite a conversation with Chris and took a real shine to her dog. As we were in such a remote place and I don’t drive, they all very kindly offered to ferry us to and from the train station and to The Cantley Cock, which serves the most amazing food. We both had a wonderful stay, it was the first time my grandson had ever slept in a church and it will be an experience he will never forget. He’s already telling his friends all about it.
