St. Botolph’s Church, Norfolk

The Champing Team were wonderful when myself and my grandson, inadvertently ended up in Norfolk instead of Oxford. They managed to find us another church, St. Botolph’s in Norfolk. This was a beautiful church with a huge stained glass window and surrounded by fields on all sides. There is a Community Centre close by with toilets and a small play area. The church was well equipped with camp beds and extra blankets, we took our sleeping bags. There is also a small table with comfy chairs, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery and wine opener. Also provided was a kettle, large bottles of water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. As it was so remote and I don’t drive, our hosts, Tim, his wife Louise and Chris, who my grandson had quite a conversation with and took a real shine to her dog, all went above and beyond to facilitate our stay, they really were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and they very kindly offered to drive us to and from the train station and The Cantley Cock to eat (you must try it, the food is first class). This is the first time my grandson has ever slept in a church, it’s an experience he will never forget, he’s already telling his friends and anyone who will listen, all about it. I can’t recommend Champing highly enough.
