I spent 4 nights in St Mary’s the first week opening after lockdown. my first thoughts were, what an amazing spiritual experience to have this whole incredible Church to myself, my later thoughts were, jeepers it’s cold, and put on my hat and down jacket!. I woke up around 3am to put some more clothes on and got back in my down sleeping bag. After getting up in the morning the temperature in the Church was 5 degrees, which I became acclimatised to during the week. I spent the late evenings completing an assignment for the CCS course I am in the first year of.
The village and walks around are very nice. Lots of information in the Church to read about the history.
Special thanks to Lynda who looks after the Church and showed me around.
I would highly recommend staying at the Church, but do pack many warm clothes in the cooler months.
