Stayed at Parish Church of St Mary’s, Longsleddale, in August. So peaceful! The locals are warm, welcoming, friendly, chatty folk with helpful information and sweet doggy companions! There are many places to walk and see. The church itself is COLD! Being August, we weren’t quite prepared for HOW chilly it might get. But we loved it nonetheless! Having the use of the Community Hall across the street was priceless! Warm (electric heaters on the walls), welcoming, and complete with kitchen facilities! We loved drinking our coffees and watching the sheep’s “daily commute” between fields. Definitely recommend this experience! But please remember to bring lots and lots and lots of blankets! 🙂
